PROMOTIONS / UPGRADES
General Policies
Officers that have spent at least one month as a Police Officer II are able to request an upgrade to Police Officer III.
Officers that have spent at least one month as a Police Officer III are able to request a promotion to Sergeant I.
This process has 4 steps:
Submitting a Letter of Interest. This Letter is then evaluated by LE Command and Supervisors.
If agreed upon by Command/Supervisors, the applicant is invited for an interview with Command Staff and Supervisors.
Should the applicant pass the interview, they are going to be moved into a short probationary phase
Once done with this probationary period, this promotion is permanent.
Interview
This interview is going to be a short examination of the applicant's letter of interest and a brief examination of their manual and general LE concepts knowledge. Once the interview is finished, the applicant should be notified of the result within 48 hours.
Probationary phase
Upon a successful completion of the interview, the applicant is going to be granted their desired rank and will enter a probationary phase. During this phase, they will ride with a Supervisor+ on 4 separate days, each lasting at least an hour. Until the probation is over, they are unable to act as that rank outside of the ridealongs. This is so that the applicant can continue with the (presumably good) work they have been doing and get comfortable with their new abilities and responsibilites
The applicant is placed under additional scrutiny during and after this phase. Should a pattern of undesirable behaviour emerge, they may be demoted back to their original rank.
Promotion
Once done with this brief 4 day probation, the applicant is granted the promotion/upgrade, unless they have displayed unsatisfactory performance during this period. Should a pattern of undesirable behaviour emerge after the promotion/upgrade, Command staff may roll back this promotion/upgrade.
