Wearing of the Badge/Uniform

On-Duty, Uniformed Employees. Uniformed employees shall wear their official Department-issued badge on the outermost garment of their uniform. However officers in a Department-approved specialised uniform, (e.g., bike detail) may wear a facsimile badge.

On-Duty, Plainclothes Officers. On-duty, plainclothes officers shall wear their official Department-issued badge and ID card so it is readily accessible for presentation to members of the public.


WHO SHALL WEAR UNIFORM. All employees regardless of rank shall wear the prescribed uniform and personal equipment during their tours of duty.

EXEMPTIONS TO WEARING UNIFORMS. The following officers are exempted from wearing the prescribed uniforms - Chief of Police; Staff officers; Command officers; and, Undercover and plainclothes assignment officers.

Accessories

AIRPORT PASS. LSPD officers assigned to the LSIA detail conducting their duties in areas not open to the general public shall wear the LSIA airside pass, identifying them as police officers.

BASEBALL CAP. Officers wearing utility uniforms, or those assigned to Beach Detail and Community Safety Parternship may wear a black baseball cap bearing "POLICE" or bearing the LSPD facsimile badge. Officers assigned to Beach Detail may wear a blue one, bearing "LOS SANTOS POLICE BEACH PATROL" or "VESPUCCI POLICE".

BODYCAM. Bodycams shall be worn by Officers; the newer Coil Body 3 is to be used. 

Exemptions: Wearing of the bodycam is not required: 

CAMPAIGN HAT. Academy instructors may wear a campaign hat when conducting academy training. It shall be dark blue in color and bear the LSPD hat badge.

CAP (HAT). Patrol officers, while on-duty, shall ensure that their uniform hat is serviceable and available either at their closest station or in their patrol vehicle. The hat shall bear the rank of the officer.

CHIEF'S POLO. The Chief of Police may choose to wear his polo shirt. It shall be light blue in color, it shall have the following silk screened on it: "POLICE" on the back, LSPD shoulder patches, name tag on the right front side and facsimile badge together with "LOS SANTOS POLICE" on the left front side.

CITATION BAR. OOC Reserve Police Officers may choose to wear an American Flag citation bar on their right breast pocket underneath their badge.

COLD WEATHER HAT. Officers may choose to wear a black fleece cap during inclement weather.

CYCLE HELMET. Black cycle helmet shall be worn by officers assigned to Bicycle Detail.
DIVISION PINS. Officers may choose to wear the relevant Division pin which matches the assignment that Officer is currently on-duty as. 

Example: If on-duty as 12G, the Strawberry GED pin may be used, but could not be used if on-duty as 6G.

Note: Shall only be worn with standard uniform shirts, i.e. Class A/B/C or utilities.

EARPIECE. Patrol officers shall not routinely patrol with an earpiece.

Note: However, during tactical situations where an officer may not wish for a subject to overhear their radio, an officer may choose to put in an earpiece.

Exemptions: Officers assigned to G/Z details may wear the earpiece for the duration of their watch.

FLAG PIN. Sergeant Is and above may choose to wear an American Flag pin on their right breast pocket in the top right-most corner.

GLOVES. Black leather or knitted gloves may be worn for inclement weather. Gloves in solid, muted colors may be worn in situations where extra protection is required. Nitrile gloves may be worn when providing first aid, or collecting evidence.

HAZMAT JACKET. Officers assigned to CTSOB's Hazardous Materials Unit may don a turnout HazMat firefighter-style jacket. It shall be black in color and bear the white text "LSPD HAZMAT".

HELMETS. Officers may carry a ballistic helmet in their patrol vehicle for situations which require extra ballistic protection. Officers may wear riot helmets during riots/major public order situations. Ballistic helmets and riot helmets shall be black in colour.

HIGH VISIBILITY VEST. Officers shall wear a reflective safety vest while working in the roadway.

Note: A reflective safety vest is not required when an officer conducts a traffic stop.

HOLSTER. Unless specified, all officers shall wear their black holster on their belt.

JACKETS. Officers may choose to wear a department-issued jacket during inclement weather, or during cold periods of time.

MARKSMANSHIP BADGES (LOS SANTOS POLICE DEPARTMENT ISSUED). There are 4 different Marksmanship Badges. All requirements refer to OOC bounds, so usage on Patrol Division/Detective Bureau characters are permitted. 

Note: Shall only be worn with standard Class A/B/C uniform shirts.

MILITARY PINS. Officers may choose to wear the relevant U.S. military pin which correlates to the branch the officer served with and was honorably discharged from. Shall only be applied if it is realistic for the character being used.

MUNICIPAL BADGE. Officers assigned to Security Services Division (36H) may optionally wear a badge with the "MUNICIPAL" above the Officer's rank on the badge. 

PLATE CARRIER / EXTERNAL ARMOUR. Officers may choose to carry a plate carrier/external armour in their patrol vehicle. The plate carrier/external armour shall not be worn unless the situation calls for it. The plate carrier/external armour shall be black and bear the text "POLICE" or "LSPD."

Note: A Tac Alert does not give automatic permission for officers to wear plate carriers/external armour.

RAIN CLOTHING. Rain clothing shall be worn during such times as officers may be exposed to inclement weather. It shall consist of the following: Hood and; Coat or cape.

RIBBON RACK. Officers may choose to wear their ribbon rack during formal events.

Note: Only awards provided to the specific character via the PCG may be used. Refer to the PIO for further information on ribbon usage. 

Exemption: Watch Commanders and above may choose to wear their ribbon rack during the course of their duties.

Exemption: Command may authorize the usage of non-standard/military-issued ribbons if applicable.

SERVICE STRIPES. Officers may choose to wear Patrol or Traffic class A or B uniforms with service stripes. Each service stripe is awarded for 5 years of IC service with the LSPD (4 months of OOC service in the Law Enforcement Faction). The amount of approved stripes is updated automatically on the faction roster.

SHOULDER / CHEST MIC. Officers may choose to wear a radio mic that attaches to their shoulder epaulet or chest assuming one of the following criteria is met:

TASER. If an officer chooses to utilise a taser, they shall use a green taser.

Low Ride Holster: Officers may choose to attach their taser to their belt with a lower riding holster connected to the belt with a trident buckle. This may be used with any A/B/C uniform.

Dropleg Holster: Officers may use the dropleg taser holster. This may be used with any A/B/C uniform.

T-SHIRT. Officers assigned to LSPD Metropolitan division may wear a t-shirt with appropriate patches and decal silk-screened on the t-shirt. The tan-colored t-shirts shall be worn during training, the black-colored t-shirts shall be worn during operational deployments.

TURTLENECK. Officers may choose to wear a department-issued turtleneck under their duty shirt during inclement weather. It shall be blue, and bear the text "POLICE."

WINDBREAKER. Detectives and other plainclothes assignments may choose to wear a marked windbreaker to identify themselves as a member of the department. It shall be blue in color and bear the text "LOS SANTOS POLICE" and the department badge.

ZIPTIES. During major public order situations, officers may choose to wear extra ziptie cuffs on their belt.

UNIFORM TYPES

Class A Uniform

Shall be worn by any Police Officer I.

Shall be worn by any officer attending a formal event.

May be worn by officers conducting field activities.


SHIRT. Long sleeve shirt to be worn with the tie.

Note: Officers assigned to a Traffic Division assignment (Traffic Enforcement Unit, Collision Investigation Unit) shall wear a shirt bearing the Traffic Division patches.

PANTS. Standard duty pants.

FOOTWEAR. Black boots.

BELT. Black leather belt, with silver buckle.

Class B / C Uniform

May be worn by officers conducting field activities.


SHIRT. Long sleeve or short sleeve shirt, with open collar - with white undershirt visible.

Note: Officers assigned to a Traffic Division assignment (Traffic Enforcement Unit, Collision Investigation Unit) shall wear a shirt bearing the Traffic Division patches.

Note: Officers assigned to Metropolitan Division may wear their black t-shirt from their Platoon. 

PANTS. Standard duty pants.

FOOTWEAR. Black boots.

BELT. Black leather belt, with silver buckle.

Utility Uniform

On-duty personnel must obtain permission from a duty supervisor to be authorised to use the utility uniform. 

Note: 


SHIRT. Black long sleeve or short sleeve shirt, with open collar. Shall bear appropriate assignment patches and a sewn name patch.

Note: Officers assigned to a Traffic Division assignment (Traffic Enforcement Unit, Collision Investigation Unit) shall wear a shirt bearing the Traffic Division patches.

BADGE. The utility uniform shall be equipped either with a metallic badge, or with an embroidered one.

PANTS. Black BDU pants.

FOOTWEAR. Black boots.

BELT. Black leather belt, with silver buckle.
Note: The Nylon belt may be worn with the utility uniform.

HOLSTER. Duty belt holster.
Note: The dropleg holster may be worn with the utility uniform.

EXTERNAL CARRIER VEST. Officers may choose to wear the black LSPD external carrier vest with the utility uniform.

Beach / Bicycle Detail Uniform

Shall be worn by officers assigned to either Beach Detail or Bicycle Detail.


SHIRT. Dark navy blue polo shirt. Officers assigned to the Cycle unit shall wear the polo bearing Cycle decal. Officers assigned to the Beach detail (non-Cycle) shall wear the navy blue polo with regular patches.

PANTS. Dark navy blue BDU pants, or black knee-length shorts.

FOOTWEAR. Black sneakers or black and white sneakers.

HELMET. All officers shall wear a bicycle helmet when riding a bicycle. It shall be black in color.

Note: Officers riding ATVs shall utilize the department-issued motor helmet, which is typically worn by Mary units.

BELT. Black leather belt, with silver buckle.

Note: The Nylon belt may be worn with the utility uniform.

Motor Unit Uniform

Shall be worn by all motor unit officers.


LEATHER JACKET. Motor officers may optionally choose to wear a leather jacket. It shall be black and shall bear Traffic Division patches.

SHIRT. Class A, B, or C style shirt may be worn. Shirt must have Traffic Division patches.

PANTS. Motor pants shall be worn with knee-high boots. They shall be dark blue in color with a white stripe.

HELMET. All motor unit officers shall wear the department-issued motor helmet.

GLOVES. Officers shall wear black leather gloves.

Detention Officer Uniform

Shall be worn by Custody Services Officers assigned to Detention.


BADGE. A silver shield with a name tag, bearing the text "DETENTION OFFICER - LOS SANTOS POLICE"

SHIRT. Black long or short sleeve shirt bearing the LSPD Detention Officer patches.

PANTS. Black duty pants.

FOOTWEAR. Black boots.

BELT. Black leather belt, with silver buckle. A holster with a Taser shall be attached to the right side.

HOLSTER. No firearm or its holster are authorised with this uniform.

Air Support Division

Shall be worn by any pilot assigned to the Air Support Division when operating an aircraft. 


SUIT. Shall be green in color and bear the Air Support patches and LSPD badge.

GLOVES. Pilots may wear nomex flight gloves

HELMET. All pilots shall wear the department-issued pilot helmet when airborne. It shall be white, displaying "LSPD" on the back.

BELT. Pilots shall wear a plain black nylon belt with a plastic buckle.


Officers assigned to the Air Support Division attending a formal event shall wear the following:

SHIRT. Long sleeve Class A shirt to be worn with the tie, bearing the ASD shoudler patches. 

PANTS. Standard duty pants.

FOOTWEAR. Black boots.

BELT. Black leather belt, with silver buckle.

K-9 Jumpsuit

Shall be worn by any officer assigned to K-9.


SHIRT. Black long sleeve or short sleeve shirt, with open collar, bearing the K-9 patch.

PANTS. Black BDU pants.

FOOTWEAR. Black boots.

BELT. Black leather belt, with silver buckle.

Note: The Nylon belt may be worn with the utility uniform.

HOLSTER. Thigh holster.


When deployed in a tactical situation, the handler may choose to equip themselves with a navy blue tactical LSPD uniform, bearing K9 patches.

Metro Jumpsuit

May be worn by officers assigned to Metropolitan Division. May be optionally worn by officers assigned to Metropolitan Division roleplaying as working an overtime Transit Services Detail assignment.


SHIRT. Navy blue long sleeve or short sleeve shirt, with open collar, bearing the METRO patch. No rank insignia is to be worn on the sleeves.

PANTS. Navy Blue BDU pants.

FOOTWEAR. Black boots.

BELT. Black leather belt, with silver buckle.

Note: The Nylon belt may be worn with the utility uniform.

HOLSTER. Thigh holster.

SWAT Uniform

Shall be worn by SWAT officers during tactical situations.


SHIRT. Blue long or short sleeve tactical shirt, bearing the subdued LSPD SWAT patch.

PANTS. Blue tactical pants.

BODY ARMOR. Similarly colored external armor, which displays "POLICE" or "LSPD".

HELMET. Similarly colored ballistic helmet.

Bomb Squad Suit

When on-scene, or in training, Bomb Squad members may wear the EOD suit. The suit shall be green in colour.

Community Safety Partnership Uniform

Shall be worn by Officers assigned to CSP.


SHIRT. Dark navy blue polo shirt. Officers assigned to CSP shall wear the navy blue polo with regular patches (no cycle logo).

PANTS. Dark navy blue BDU pants.

FOOTWEAR. Black sneakers.

BELT. Black leather belt, with silver buckle.

Note: The Nylon belt may be worn with the uniform.
