Wearing of the Badge / Uniform
WEARING OF THE BADGE. Marshals conduct their day-to-day duties in plain clothes. On-duty, plainclothes Marshals shall wear their official issued badge and ID card so it is readily accessible for presentation to members of the public.
WEARING OF UNIFORM ACCESORIES. When on an assignment where interacting with other agencies or with members of the public is a possibility, USMS Marshals should wear accessories or clothing items that identify them as an USMS Marshal, unless tactical conditions prohibit it. In addition, they must have their badge openly visible, unless tactical conditions prohibit it.
EXEMPTIONS TO UNIFORM REGULATIONS. Command staff and undercover Marshals are exempt from uniform regulations.
Accessories
BASEBALL CAP. May be worn by deputies working in the field. Must display “USMS”, “U.S. Marshal”, "U.S. Marshal Police" or the USMS logo.
EARPIECE. Deputies may choose to wear an earpiece.
EXTERNAL ARMOUR. In situations where, due to tactical conditions, an extra layer of protection could be required, deputies may put on external armour. Shall be in a singular, dark color and must display “USMS”, “U.S. Marshal”, "U.S. Marshal Police" or the USMS logo.
HELMETS. Deputies may choose to wear a ballistic helmet for situations which require extra ballistic protection. Ballistic helmets shall be dark in colour.
HOLSTER. Deputies may choose to carry their service firearm in a low profile outer holster, shoulder holster, or in a concealed inside-the-waistband holster. In situations where required by tactical conditions, agents may choose to wear a drop-leg holster.
POLO SHIRT. Deputies may choose to wear a polo shirt bearing either "USMS" or "US MARSHAL" lettering, or the USMS logo.
WINDBREAKERS. Deputies may choose to wear a windbreaker as their outermost clothing item. It shall be blue in color and must display “USMS”, “U.S. Marshal”, "U.S. Marshal Police" or the USMS logo.

Uniform Types
USMS Special Operations Group
Shall be worn by USMS SOG / SRT operatives during tactical operations (CTSOB).
SHIRT. Camouflaged combat shirt.
PANTS. Camouflaged tactical pants.
BODY ARMOR. Similarly colored or camouflaged external armor, which displays “USMS”, "U.S. MARSHAL POLICE” or the USMS logo.
HELMET. Similarly colored ballistic helmet.
BELT / HOLSTER. Alternatively, a tan equipment belt and/or a tan pistol holster may also be worn.
