GO LOCO RAILROAD POLICE
Wearing of the Badge / Uniform
On-Duty Employees. Uniformed employees shall wear their official Department-issued badge on the outermost garment of their uniform, or have it ready to be presented to the public. Uniformed employees shall wear the GLPD patches on their shoulders wherever possible.
WHO SHALL WEAR UNIFORM. All employees regardless of rank shall wear the prescribed uniform and personal equipment during their tours of duty.
EXEMPTIONS TO WEARING UNIFORMS. The following officers are exempted from wearing the prescribed uniforms - Command officers; and, Undercover and plainclothes assignment officers.
Accessories
BASEBALL CAP. May be optionally worn. Shall be black in colour and bear the text "POLICE."
BELT. Black nylon belt, with a black plastic buckle and black pouch buttons.
Note: Alternatively, a basketweave belt with silver buckle may be worn with class A/B/C uniforms.
COLD WEATHER HAT. Officers may choose to wear a black fleece cap during inclement weather.
GLOVES. Black leather or knitted gloves may be worn for inclement weather. Gloves in solid, muted colors may be worn in situations where extra protection is required. Nitrile gloves may be worn when providing first aid, or collecting evidence.
HELMETS. Officers may carry a ballistic helmet in their patrol vehicle for situations which require extra ballistic protection.
HIGH VISIBILITY VEST. Officers shall wear a reflective safety vest while working in the roadway.
HOLSTER. Unless specified, all officers shall wear their black holster on their belt.
Note: Agents may choose to wear a basketweave holster so long as it matches with the belt type.
JACKETS. Officers may choose to wear a department-issued jacket during inclement weather, or during cold periods of time.
PLATE CARRIER / EXTERNAL ARMOUR. Officers may choose to carry a plate carrier/external armour in their patrol vehicle. It shall be black in color, and bear the white text "GO LOCO RAILROAD POLICE" OR "RAILROAD SPECIAL AGENT" with the modern uniform, or plain plate carrier with the white text "POLICE" with Class A/B/C (as the soft vest clips).
When wearing class A/B/C uniform, the plate carrier/external armour shall not be worn unless the situation calls for it.
When wearing the Modern Uniform, a carrier/external armour is required. It must be the one specified.
SHOULDER / CHEST MIC. Officers may choose to wear a shoulder or chest mic for their radio.
TASER. If an officer chooses to utilise a taser, they shall use a black or yellow taser.
TURTLENECK. Officers may choose to wear a department-issued turtleneck under their duty shirt during inclement weather. It shall be dark in color, and bear the text "POLICE."
Uniform Types
Class A Uniform
Shall be worn by any officer attending a formal event.
May be worn by officers conducting field activities.
SHIRT. Long sleeve shirt to be worn with the tie, bearing the Go Loco shoulder patches.
PANTS. Black in color dress pants are mandatory for formal events and optional for patrol duties. Black, tan, or khaki, in color BDU style pants are optional for patrol duties.
FOOTWEAR. Black boots.
HOLSTER. The duty belt holster shall be worn.
Note: Optionally, special agents may wear a drop-leg holster.
Class B / C Uniform
May be worn by officers conducting field activities.
SHIRT. Long sleeve or short sleeve shirt, with open collar, bearing the Go Loco shoulder patches.
PANTS. Black in color dress pants are mandatory for formal events and optional for patrol duties. Black, tan, or khaki, in color BDU style pants are optional for patrol duties.
FOOTWEAR. Black boots.
HOLSTER. The duty belt holster shall be worn.

Modern Uniform
May be worn by officers conducting field activities.
SHIRT. Black t-shirt OR a black collared short or black long sleeve shirt
PANTS. Tan/khaki OR black BDU pants
FOOTWEAR. Black OR tan boots.
PLATE CARRIER/EXTERNAL ARMOUR. A black in color plate carrier, or soft kevlar vest shall be worn at all times. It shall be black in color and bear the white text "GO LOCO RAILROAD POLICE" OR "RAILROAD SPECIAL AGENT".
Ranks and Paygrades
Special Agent (equivalent to PO2)
Senior Special Agent (equivalent to PO3)
Supervisory Special Agent (equivalent to SGT)
Chief Special Agent (equivalent to CPT)
Director of Law Enforcement (equivalent to COP)
GLPD agents do not display rank when in uniform.
