Wearing of the Uniform / Badge

Wearing of the Department Issued Badge

On-Duty, Uniformed Employees. Uniformed employees shall wear their official Department-issued badge on the outermost garment of their uniform. However officers in a Department-approved specialised uniform may wear a facsimile badge.

On-Duty, Plainclothes Deputies. On-duty, plainclothes deputies shall wear their official Department-issued badge and ID card so it is readily accessible for presentation to members of the public.


WHO SHALL WEAR UNIFORM. All employees regardless of rank shall wear the prescribed uniform and personal equipment during their tours of duty.

EXEMPTIONS TO WEARING UNIFORMS. The following officers are exempted from wearing the prescribed uniforms - Commissioner; Executive Staff; Command staff; and, Undercover and plainclothes assignment officers.

Accessories

BASEBALL CAP. May optionally be worn alongside the Class A, B or C when paired with a jacket or a coat, or alongside long or short sleeve Utility Uniform, or alongside K-9 Uniform. The hat shall be blue in colour, and must display embroidered SAHP badge.

BEANIE. May optionally be worn with the Class A, B or C uniform when paired with a jacket or a coat, Utility Uniform, or K-9 Uniform. The beanie shall be black in colour.

BELT. Officers shall wear a black basketweave belt with plastic or gold buckle and gold pouch buttons.

BODYCAM. Bodycams may be worn by Officers; the newer Coil Body 3 is to be used. 

Exemptions: Wearing of the bodycam is not required: 

CAMPAIGN HAT. May optionally be worn alongside the Class A, B or C uniform. Shall be tan in colour, and must display the SAHP badge.

COAT. May be optionally worn by officers during cold or inclement weather. Shall be dark blue in color and shall bear the SAHP patches.

BOWTIE. May optionally be worn in conjunction with a Class B Motor Uniform.

EARPIECE. Officers may choose to wear an earpiece.

EXTERNAL ARMOUR. Officers shall not patrol while wearing external armour. During situations where extra protection is needed, officers may put on external armour. Shall be dark in colour, and must display "SAHP" or "POLICE."

GLOVES. Black leather or knitted gloves may be worn for inclement weather. Gloves in solid, muted colors may be worn in situations where extra protection is required. Nitrile gloves may be worn when providing first aid, or collecting evidence. 

HELMETS. Officers may carry a ballistic helmet in their patrol vehicle for situations which require extra ballistic protection. officers may wear riot helmets during riots/major public order situations. Ballistic helmets shall be dark in colour.

HIGH VISIBILITY VEST. Officers shall wear a reflective safety vest while working in the roadway.

Note: A reflective safety vest is not required when an officer conducts a traffic stop.

HOLSTER. Unless specified, all officers shall wear their black holster on their belt. 

JACKETS. Officers may choose to wear a department-issued jacket during inclement weather, or during cold periods of time. 

MARKSMANSHIP PINS (SAN ANDREAS HIGHWAY PATROL ISSUED). There are 4 different Marksmanship Pins. All requirements refer to OOC bounds, so usage on Patrol Division/Detective Bureau characters are permitted. 

Note: Shall only be worn with standard Class A/B/C uniform shirts.

PILOT HELMET. Pilots shall wear a flight helmet. Shall be white in colour.

PINS. Field Training Officers may choose to wear the FTO pin. Officers may choose to wear the 92nd Anniversary pin.

Note: Shall only be worn with standard uniform shirts, i.e. Class A/B/C or utilities.

POLO SHIRT. May be optionally worn by plain clothes officers. Shall be navy blue and display the embroidered SAHP badge.

RAIN CLOTHING. Rain clothing shall be worn during such times as officers may be exposed to inclement weather. It shall consist of the following: Hood and; Coat or cape. 

REFLECTIVE CLOTHING. During inclement weather or low visibility periods, Officers may wear reflective clothing over their standard uniform. This may include a coat and/or pants. They shall be safety yellow in color with reflective stripes, and the jacket shall bear SAHP patches.

SERVICE STRIPES. Officers may choose to wear class A or B uniforms with service stripes. Each service stripe is awarded for 3 years of IC service with the SAHP (4 months of OOC service in the Law Enforcement Faction). The amount of approved stripes is updated automatically on the faction roster. 

SHOULDER / CHEST MIC. Officers may choose to wear a shoulder or chest mic for their radio. 

TASER.  If an officer chooses to utilise a taser, they shall use a yellow taser.

TURTLENECK. Officer may choose to wear a department-issued turtleneck under their duty shirt during inclement weather. Shall be blue in colour, and must display "POLICE." 

WINDBREAKER. May be worn optionally by plain clothes officers. Shall be blue in color and bear the SAHP badge facsimile, SAHP patches and "SAHP" lettering.

ZIPTIES. During major public order situations, deputies may choose to wear extra ziptie cuffs on their belt.

Uniform Types

Class A Uniform

Shall be worn by any officer attending a formal event.

May be worn by officers conducting field activities.


SHIRT. Long sleeve shirt to be worn with the tie. Shall be worn with the metal badge and name plate.

PANTS. Standard duty pants, khaki in colour with two blue stripes and a gold stripe.

FOOTWEAR. Black boots.

CAMPAIGN HAT. Campaign hat, as prescribed, may be optionaly worn when conducting field activities. Shall be worn by any officer attending a formal event.

Class B / C Uniform

May be worn by officers conducting field activities.


SHIRT. Long sleeve or short sleeve shirt, with open collar. Shall be worn with the metal badge and name plate.

PANTS. Standard duty pants, khaki in colour, with two blue and a gold stripe.

FOOTWEAR. Black boots.

Utility Uniform

On-duty personnel must obtain permission from a duty supervisor to be authorised to use the utility uniform. 

Shall be worn by Commercial Vehicle Enforcement officers.


SHIRT. Long or short sleeve navy blue  shirt, with open collar. Shall be worn with a sewn badge and sewn name patch.

PANTS. BDU pants, navy blue in colour. May be bloused.

FOOTWEAR. Black boots.

K-9 Uniform

Shall be worn by officers conducting K-9 duties.


SHIRT. Long or short sleeve navy blue shirt, with open collar. Shall be worn with a sewn badge, sewn name tape and a K-9 assignment badge.

PANTS. BDU pants, navy blue in colour. May be bloused.

FOOTWEAR. Black boots.

HOLSTER. K-9 officers may choose between a polymer retention holster on their belt and a drop leg holster.

Motor Unit Uniform

Shall be worn by all motor unit officers.


LEATHER JACKET. Motor officers may choose to wear a leather jacket. It shall be brown, equipped with a SAHP badge and SAHP patches.

SHIRT. Class A, B, or C style shirt may be worn.

PANTS. Motor pants with two blue and a gold stripe shall be bloused and worn with knee-high boots.

HELMET. All motor unit officers shall wear the department-issued motor helmet.

GLOVES. Officers shall wear black leather gloves.

Flight Suit

Shall be worn by any officer assigned to the Air Support Division when operating an aircraft. 


SUIT. Shall be tan in color and bear the SAHP patches.

GLOVES. Pilots may wear nomex flight gloves

HELMET. All pilots shall wear the department-issued pilot helmet when airborne. It shall be plain white

BELT. Pilots shall wear a plain black nylon belt with a plastic buckle.

SAHP SWAT

Shall be worn by officers assigned to SAHP SWAT.


SHIRT. Camouflaged long sleeve combat shirt, bearing the subdued patches of the SAHP.

PANTS. Camouflaged tactical pants.

BODY ARMOR. Similarly colored external armor, which displays “POLICE”, "SAHP", or the SAHP facsimile badge.

HELMET. Similarly colored ballistic helmet.
