Wearing of the Badge / Uniform

WEARING OF THE BADGE. Agents may conduct their day-to-day duties in plain clothes or in uniform. On-duty, plainclothes agents shall wear their official issued badge and ID card so it is readily accessible for presentation to members of the public.

WEARING OF UNIFORM ACCESORIES. When on an assignment where interacting with other agencies or with members of the public is a possibility, ABC agents should wear accessories or clothing items that identify them as an ABC agent, unless tactical conditions prohibit it. In addition, they must have their badge openly visible.

EXEMPTIONS TO UNIFORM REGULATIONS. Command staff and Undercover agents are exempt from uniform regulations.

Accessories

BELT. Black nylon belt.
BODYCAM. Bodycams may be worn by Agents; the newer Coil Body 3 is to be used. 

Exemptions: Wearing of the bodycam is not required: 

EARPIECE. Agents may choose to wear an earpiece.

EXTERNAL ARMOUR. Agents may choose to wear external armor vests with the Duty Uniform or Utility Uniform, or with plain-clothes. External armor vests shall be black in color, and must display "POLICE" and/or a facsimile or real ABC badge. 

EXTERNAL STAB VEST. Agents may choose to wear external stab vests with the Duty Uniform or Utility Uniform, or with plain-clothes. External stab vests shall be black in color, and must display "POLICE" and/or a facsimile or real ABC badge. 

EXTERNAL LOAD BEARING VEST. Agents may choose to wear external load-bearing vests with the Duty Uniform or Utility Uniform. External load-bearing vests shall be black in color, and must display "POLICE" and/or a facsimile or real ABC badge.

GLOVES. Black leather or knitted gloves may be worn for inclement weather. Gloves in solid, muted colors may be worn in situations where extra protection is required. Nitrile gloves may be worn when providing first aid, or collecting evidence.

HELMETS. Agents may choose to wear a ballistic helmet in situations which require extra ballistic protection. Ballistic helmets shall be dark in colour.

HOLSTER. Agents may choose to carry their service firearm in a low profile outer holster, shoulder holster, or in a concealed inside-the-waistband holster. When in uniform, a black duty belt holster shall be used.

POLO SHIRT. Agents may choose to wear a polo shirt bearing either "ABC" lettering, or the ABC logo.
TASER. If an agent chooses to utilise a taser, they shall use a  yellow taser.

WINDBREAKERS. Agents may choose to wear a windbreaker as their outermost clothing item. Shall be blue in color and bear the ABC badge facsimile, ABC patches and "ABC" lettering.

UNIFORM TYPES

Class B/C Uniform

May be worn by agents conducting field activities.


SHIRT. Long sleeve or short sleeve shirt, with open collar. Shall be worn with a sewn badge and sewn name patch.

PANTS. BDU style pants in black.

FOOTWEAR. Black boots.

BELT. Black nylon belt.

Utility Uniform

May be worn by agents conducting field activities.


SHIRT. Long or short sleeve shirt, with open collar. Shall be worn with a sewn badge and sewn name patch.

PANTS. BDU pants, black in colour.

FOOTWEAR. Black boots.

BELT. Black nylon belt.
